“The purpose of prayer is not to get God to do what we think God ought to do.
The purpose of prayer is to be properly formed.”
– Brian Zahnd

Prayer is the means by which we learn to hear the voice of God.  Like a child tracing the letters of the alphabet, so we trace the words of God so that we learn what God sounds like, what God cares about, what God does.  Prayer doesn't change God, it changes us.

This work of being properly formed is too important to be left to our own whims and thoughts, so we do it together as a community.  This is the purpose of an order of prayer, to share the journey.  As iron sharpens iron, so we help one another to discern the voice of God.

At The Keep & Till, we created Agrarian Daily Prayer to teach us -  together - how to pray.  We invite you to jump in wherever we are, and to join us in the journey of being formed by Jesus.

To do so, just click the button below, and you'll be taken to a PDF of that week's prayer.
